Cytokinetics' cardiovascular disease broadcast is focussed to cardiac myosin, a motor protein essential to cardiac musculus contraction. Cytokinetics' lead compound from this program, CK-1827452, a novel small molecule cardiac myosin activator, entered Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of heart failure in 2007. Under a strategic alliance established in 2006, Cytokinetics and Amgen Inc. ar performing reefer research focused on identifying and characterizing activators of cardiac myosin as computer backup and follow-on potential drug candidates to CK-1827452. Amgen has obtained an selection for an exclusive license to develop and commercialize CK-1827452, subject to Cytokinetics' development and commercial involvement rights. Cytokinetics' cancer computer programme is focussed on mitotic kinesins, a family of motor proteins essential to cell division. Under a strategic alliance established in 2001, Cytokinetics and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) ar conducting enquiry and development activities focused on the potential handling of cancer. Cytokinetics is developing 2 novel dose candidates that have arisen from this program, ispinesib and SB-743921, each a novel inhibitor of kinesin spindle protein (KSP), a mitotic kinesin. Cytokinetics is sponsoring a Phase I/II clinical trial of ispinesib as monotherapy as a first-line treatment in chemotherapy-nave patients with locally modern or metastatic breast malignant neoplastic disease. In addition, Cytokinetics is conducting a Phase I/II trial of SB-743921 in patients with non-Hodgkin or Hodgkin lymphomas. GSK has obtained an option for the joint development and commercialization of ispinesib and SB-743921. Cytokinetics and GSK are conducting collaborative research activities directed to the mitotic kinesin centromere-associated protein E (CENP-E). GSK-923295, a CENP-E inhibitor, is being developed under the strategical alliance by GSK; GSK began a Phase I clinical tribulation with GSK-923295 in 2007. In April 2008, Cytokinetics announced the selection of a electric potential drug candidate directed towards skeletal muscle contractility which may be developed as a electric potential treatment for skeletal musculus weakness associated with neuromuscular diseases or other weather condition. All of these drug candidates and potential drug candidates experience arisen from Cytokinetics' research activities and are directed towards the cytoskeleton. The cytoskeleton is a composite biological infrastructure that plays a profound role inside every human cell. The 5 guys wHO receive chosen the somewhat occult nickname of the Juliana Theory to make up their band receive successfully transformed themselves from punk and hard-core kids restricted by the constraints of the emo genre into echt, credible musicians. Their songs display kinetics, skill, and attention to melodious detail that defies their youthful, offbeat, and frequently lyrical affirmative personas.
The Juliana Theory formed in western Pennsylvania in 1997 around vocalist Brett Detar, bassist Chad Alan, guitar player Josh Fiedler, and two other friends. It was in the first place a position stick out for Detar at first due to his commitment as guitarist and major songwriter for metalcore band Zao. Eventually, Detar's poppy position north Korean won over, and he distinct to entrust to the Juliana Theory full-time, amicably exiting Zao.
A split EP with the band Dawson High on Arise Records pronounced the band's recorded debut. Their unrecorded shows were electrical, filled with smile facetiously, bubblegum pop moves -- including the guitarists' predilection for tossing their picks in the air and catching them. Drummer Neil Hebrank and guitar player Josh Kosker were also on base as the Juliana Theory sign a multi-album sell with Seattle-based Tooth & Nail. Their debut uncut, Interpret This Is a Dream, was released on March 23, 1999. It was replete of lackadaisical, impulsive pop songs, but besides hinted at a greater depth that would subsequently be more in full explored.
Simply first base, monumental touring in the album's support was on the plate, with the Juliana Theory share-out stages with many bands and playacting at several national festivals. The band reentered the studio in 2000, number one unleashing a tripartite rent CD with Onelinedrawing and the Gray AM through Onedaysaviour, and next producing the complete, heavily polished, and active Emotion Is Dead album. The Juliana Theory's soph musical composition explored darker depths than their late outings had fey upon, conjuring affectional power ballads and towering rock scorchers through rough-textured layering and incredible harmonies.
Detar began playing tierce guitar more and more in the alive circumstance as the band's fan base increased dramatically. Growing more and more pall of the emo tag and fed up with their bubblegum emo figure and good, the Juliana Theory began maturation yearner hair and written material well more focused compositions. Virtually every major pronounce under the sun became concerned in the group and in 2001, the Juliana Theory signed a recording compress with Epic/Sony. A few dates on the 2001 Warped Tour followed. On October 23 of the like class, the Juliana Theory released vI new songs as the Music from Another Room EP on Tooth & Nail. The songs charted new territory for the quintet, evoking the heroic dynamics of late-'70s prog rockers like Rush, Yes, and Genesis. A round of golf of acting with the similarly minded Movielife and Detar's old match in Zao followed.
The following full-length album, Love, continued this be active away from genre conventions. It showed the isthmus jump into a more mainstream approach without sacrificing its intensity or experimental flourishes. It was too released on Epic, qualification it the official low gear major-label outlet from the isthmus. Epic didn't work out for the Juliana Theory, however, and the set issued a live record album through Tooth & Nail earlier sign language with indie impression Abacus for September 2005's Defaulter Sweetheartbeat. A best-of collection from their years on Tooth and Nail, A Small Noise, appeared in February 2006. That like month, the group officially announced their decision to pick.

Amy Winehouse: 'I'm The Least Racist Person Going'
Amy Winehouse has apologised for footage that appears to show her singing a 'racist' song.
In the video, which was published in the News of the World, Winehouse and a friend sing a rendition of the song ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ with the original words replaced.
They repeatedly sing: "Blacks, Pakis, Gooks and Nips, Gooks and Nips.”
Speaking about the footage, Winehouse told photographers outside her North London home yesterday (June 9th): “I don't want to play anything down, but I'm the least racist person going."
The video was reportedly shot by the singer's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who can be heard encouraging Winehouse and her friend to sing, reports the Associated Press.
Yesterday it was revealed that Fielder-Civil had pleaded guilty to assaulting a man and then trying to cover it up.
If found guilty of the incident, which took place outside a pub in London in 2006, Winehouse's husband could face a maximum of five years in jail.
Winehouse emerged briefly yesterday to sign autographs for fans. You can see the pictures below...

The next of Baton Rouge swampland blues lies forthright in multi-instrumentalist Kenny Neal's up to custody -- the second-generation southern Louisiana bluesman is entirely aware of the region's venerable megrims tradition and imaginative enough to steer it in fresh directions, as his albums for Alligator confirm. His dada, harper Raful Neal, was a Baton Rouge blues mainstay whose pals included Buddy Guy and Slim Harpo (the latter handed three-year-old horse Kenny an old harp one day as a toy, and that was it). At age 13, Neal was playing in his father's band, and he picked up a bass at 17 for Buddy Guy. In 1987, Neal cut off his debut LP for Florida producer Bob Greenlee -- a stunningly updated swampland banquet initially marketed on King Snake Records as Bio on the Bayou. Alligator picked it up the following year, retitled it Vainglorious News from Baton Rouge!!, and offspring Neal was on his way. Neal's sizzling guitar work, inflexible harp, and shingly, aged-beyond-his-years vocals hold served him well ever since. Among his legion albums ar Devil Child (1989), Bayou Blood (1992), Hoodoo Moon (1994), Blues Fallin' Down Like Rain (1998), What You Got (2000), One Step Closer (2001), Easy Meeting (2003), Double Take (2004), and A Trubute to Slim Harpo and Raful Neal (2005).

Witness Says R. Kelly Is Man In Sex Tape
Simha Jamison, now 24, testified on the second full day of the singer's trial in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday (21May08) stating she believed her friend Roshona Landfair, now 23, to be the underage girl in the video.
And when asked who she believed the man in the video tape to be, she replied, "Her Godfather, R. Kelly".
Jamison told the court she met the Grammy-winner through Landfair, who introduced the star as her "Godfather".
Jamison went on to tell the court she recognised the girl in the video as her former friend from her face and a "mullet" haircut the two girls had both sported at the time.
The witness told Cook County prosecutor Shauna Boliker she had previously seen the tape in question in February 2002.
The girl in the video, thought to be either 13 or 14 years old at the time, has maintained that she isn't the female in the footage, and Kelly's attorneys backed up her claims.
On Tuesday (20May08), Kelly's lawyers insisted the man in the video bears key physical differences from the star.
Kelly stands accused of videotaping himself having sex with a 13-year-old girl, and could face up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.
The trial continues.
Spears undergoing psychiatric evaluation
The 26-year-old was taken from her home to hospital yesterday by ambulance.
Speaking to People magazine, Spears' representative, Sam Lutfi, said that Spears was undergoing evaluation on the orders of her psychiatrist.
"She went willingly," Lufti told the magazine. "It was like something in her heart was telling her she should go. She knew something was wrong."
UCLA Medical Center declined to confirm if Spears was a patient, citing confidentiality.
Spears' parents and Lufti were pictured leaving the hospital on Thursday. When asked if her daughter was "OK" by reporters, the singer's mother Lynne said: "Yes."
Friends and family have said they believe that the 26-year-old is suffering from bipolar disorder or other psychiatric problems.
An unnamed source told Us Weekly that Spears had not slept since Saturday.
The source said that the "intervention" by Spears' family and psychiatrist had been planned for a number of days.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness in the US has pleaded for Spears' privacy during her treatment.
